This equipment can measure Total Residual Oxidants (TRO) in ballast water, purified water, etc. Inlet, drain, by-pass and reagent solenoid valves are applied to this equipment. The amount of sample and reagents entering the cuvette is controlled by individual valves or pumps. The overall water pressure in the drive unit is regulated by a regulator.

Reagents are dispensed from two interchangeable pouches each. It contains a buffer solution (Buffer) that adjusts the pH and an indicator solution mixed with DPD (N,N-Diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) that shows color when TRO is present in the sample. When a sample and a reagent are mixed and developed, the color tone of the sample is determined by the amount of TRO dissolved in the sample. These two reagents are drawn into the cuvette through the reagent solenoid valve and reagent pump.

In the measuring part, the sample obtained in the cuvette, the indicator, and the buffer are mixed to develop a magenta color. With this action, the TRO concentration of the sample is measured through the change in light intensity value according to each concentration.
